This week I’m embedded with the Weddell seal team. They are working with the moms of new pups, in pairings where the pup is at least 35 days old. We loaded up the sledges in the morning and snowmobiled out to Turtle Rock, home to a colony of about 100 seals. One thing I love about this science team is that it’s all women: six women scientists zooming across ice on snowmobiles is pretty badass, in my opinion! Now I’ll stop talking so we can just look at these photos of seal moms and babies.
